Intellectual (IQ) Assessment

Psychologists use standardized tests to understand the overall intelligence level of children/adults in order to analyze their cognitive abilities usually in speech comprehension, perceptual reasoning, working memory and processing speed, as well as to find out their strengths and weaknesses in various abilities. These results can be used to identify whether there are any specific strength(s) or problem(s) such as gifted or limited intelligence in children. In these cases, parents can help their children develop their strengths so as to fully actualize their potential as well as provide appropriate support in their weaknesses. For adults, the results can be used for the consideration of work or academic choices, or brain function assessment, etc.
